Our client is a Global MedTech company headquartered in Greater Copenhagen with a strong track record in developing state-of-the-art products addressing unmet needs in the market.
THE POSITION
Reporting directly to the EVP, Global R&D, the Director, EVP R&D's Office is the primary interface and representative of EVP, Global R&D internally and externally. The Director is a critical enabler and execution arm of the EVP, Global R&D and will play a key role among others in:

Assisting the EVP in handling critical relationships e.g. the Executive Management Team (EMT), the R&D Management Team and key internal and external stakeholders.

Ensuring executional focus and alignment with the strategy across the R&D organization.

Driving R&D acquisition integration in a role as Strategic Integration Lead.
The Director is empowered to drive results across diverse internal teams and support partners to move these priorities forward and thus, the successful candidate will demonstrate ownership mentality, while ensuring the governance of integrated operating plans (execution, measurement and coordination) in order to achieve business objectives.
The role is also responsible for creating and managing operating routines to ensure that the EVP is prepared to meet with key internal and external audiences, including the Board of Directors, Executive Management Team- and/or Global R&D Management Team meetings, partner- or supplier meetings and industry associations among others.
Finally, the Director will lead strategic and engagement initiatives and act as a liaison for many matters of importance on behalf of the EVP.

Responsibilities & Tasks:
Governance & Execution

Engaging and collaborating effectively with the Global R&D Management Team, Executive Management Team (EMT) and other key stakeholders to drive shared objectives, including ensuring executional focus and alignment to the strategy.

Assisting the EVP, Global R&D in handling critical relationships e.g. the EMT, R&D Management Team, the board and key external stakeholders, including organizing and coordinating executive outreach on behalf of the EVP.

Driving planning and execution of R&D Management Team governance.
-
Contributing to identifying key business issues, risks and opportunities, and recommending solutions, options and multi-stage action plans, including analysis of contingencies, implications and alternative scenarios.

Advising, collaborating with, and providing execution support to the EVP and the R&D Management Team to ensure follow-through and execution on strategically important projects.

Managing key EVP meetings including preparation and facilitation.

Driving R&D acquisition integration as Integration Lead.
Strategic initiatives
-
Working closely with the EMT and/or R&D Management Team on various strategic projects.

Managing key strategic initiatives with varying degrees of involvement depending on the initiative, from oversight and collaboration to direct responsibility for execution and outcomes – marshal and direct resources as needed.

Planning and facilitating R&D-wide initiatives, acting as champion on behalf of the EVP to drive key initiatives e.g. heading up R&D’s role in forthcoming corporate strategy process and ensuring follow-up on action items to monitor progress and drive closure.

Assisting the EVP as requested in developing and implementing business objectives.
Communication & Business Management

Organizing R&D Management Team meetings by:
-
Reviewing/preparing R&D Management Team package materials – hereunder researching, compiling, drafting, editing and proofreading correspondence and documents, presentations and reports where requested/required.

Developing EVP communication materials e.g. R&D Management Team, EMT or board presentations, sometimes in collaboration with Corporate Communications:

Ensuring messaging and flow of presentations are aligned early.

Gathering required data and conducting accurate supporting analyses.

Influencing, communicating and building relationships at all levels of the organization, including resolving issues and seeking consensus among diverse groups of stakeholders.

Providing the EVP and members of the Global R&D Management Team and/or EMT with leverage in moving projects forward by assisting with information gathering, communicating with different parties, developing and monitoring plans, keeping track of responsibilities and so on.

Anticipating needs of the EVP and develop initiatives/solutions that will meet these needs.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Educational background:
Commercial degree at M.Sc./MBA level or similar.
Language:
English – fluent (verbally and written).
Ideal experience and competencies:

+3 years of experience from tier-1 consulting, preferably combined with proven success in planning, governance and execution in positions of similar scope and complexity.

Well-versed in Program/Project level planning, status reporting, financials and risk management.

Proven experience of navigating smoothly within change management frameworks.

Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Applications.

Demonstrated skills in scoping, planning, and executing multiple, and quick turnaround projects and analyses with minimal outside assistance.

Demonstrated ability to reach an in-depth, holistic understanding of the business objectives, strategies and priorities of a company, combined with experience with planning and governance structures necessary to deliver on these priorities.

Demonstrated superior level of organizational intelligence and ability to operate effectively in a complex environment under pressure and to tight deadlines with discretion and political sensitivity.
